Press Release6/24/04 Celeste Celebrates Safety MilestoneEaston, MD – June 24, 2004 - Celeste Industries Corporation has designated the month of June as Safety Awareness Month, which coincides with National Safety Awareness Month. Celeste celebrated its "total incidents recordable," or TIR rating of 1.60 of on-the-job injuries with a Safety Awareness Luncheon. "We are really proud of our employees for maintaining our great safety record," said Sarge Johnson, Celeste Industries' Health, Safety, Regulatory manager. "The manufacturing industry average for TIR is around 4.24. Maintaining a rate of below 2.00 for the last three years is a real accomplishment, and something we are really proud of. Our employees do a fantastic job of keeping safety at the forefront, and making sure they take necessary precautions in the workplace." At the safety luncheon, door prizes like 5 lb. boxes of shrimp, and 1/2 bushels of steamed crabs, were given away to promote regional Eastern Shore delicacies. A grand prize giveaway of a chartered fishing boat trip was won by Janet Tritapoe, manager of customer service at Celeste. In addition to special events to honor safety milestones, Celeste has ongoing safety incentive programs. A B-Safe Bingo program was initiated by Johnson when he first started at Celeste. This program provides employees with a chance to play B-Safe Bingo and win cash awards to remind employees each day that safety is something they cannot take for granted.
